The renowned sustainability rating agency EcoVadis has awarded PORR top marks, including in the areas of the environment, labor and human rights. In particular, PORR's commitment to the Science Based Targets was honored.
PORR is not only among the top 3 companies in the international construction industry, but is also among the top 5 companies worldwide. "This is a truly impressive result. It confirms to us that we are on the right track with our measures," says PORR CEO Karl-Heinz Strauss.

EcoVadis currently evaluates around 300 companies worldwide according to international sustainability standards, covering a broad spectrum of non-financial management systems. PORR demonstrates industry leadership, particularly in the areas of labor and human rights, and the environment; ethics and sustainable procurement were also rated positively.

This year, the company's commitment to the Science Based Targets is also reflected in the top rating. This commitment was confirmed by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) at the end of 2024, meaning that PORR has taken a giant step in its sustainable commitment. Together with progress in the area of ISO certifications, this led to the increase from 77 to 100 points and the corresponding jump to gold.

Moving forward with speed

"We will continue at this pace, as we are now busy setting science-based targets for PORR after submitting our commitment. The basis for this is, among other things, our complete Scope 3 reporting this year," promises Karl-Heinz Strauss.
As part of its Green and Lean strategy, PORR is relying on a wide range of measures to drive decarbonization. In addition to optimizing construction site logistics and rolling out photovoltaic systems at its own locations, this also includes the topic of circular economy: PORR operates numerous building material recycling sites and is considered the largest recycler in the industry in Austria. It is continuously involved in new developments in the recycling of materials such as gypsum and mineral wool. In the social area, PORR, as a safe and inclusive employer, focuses on topics such as the PORR Care+ insurance model for employees, the Safety Walk app and various training measures via the PORR Academy and PORR Campus.
