New checking account is certified with the Austrian Ecolabel for sustainable financial products.

bank99 is expanding its offering with the balancekonto99 – a new checking account model that has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for sustainable financial products. What's special about this model is that account holders' deposits are used exclusively to finance the purchase of sustainable real estate as defined by the Taxonomy Regulation. The ecolabel, recognized as a quality mark for sustainable financial products since 2004, has been awarded to the balancekonto99 for four years and is regularly reviewed.

Walter Oblin, CEO of Österreichische Post AG: "Austrian Post has consistently been a pioneer in sustainability for years, for example through its CO2-neutral delivery program, the advanced conversion of our vehicle fleet to e-mobility, and the generation of PV power on our own roofs. With the balancekonto99, we are continuing this path in the financial area of bank99, thereby creating added value for customers."

All new and existing customers who use the account switching service from a third-party bank account to a smart, balance, or topkonto99 account between June 2 and August 31, 2025, will receive €99 credited to their account by bank99. In addition, everyone who opens or switches to a balancekonto99 account during this period will receive a €50 Wellcard voucher. The voucher will be issued directly at a branch or delivered by mail, depending on availability. Full details about the promotion can be found at bank99.at.

For bank99, sustainability is also a social responsibility. To mark the launch of balancekonto99, the Austrian bank is therefore pleased to announce a new partnership with SOS Children's Villages Austria. To begin with, it is supporting the organization with a donation of €9,999. These funds will go towards the "Bildungs-ABCd" educational program, which specifically promotes the talents and strengths of children and young people and provides them with a solid foundation for a self-determined and independent life. Furthermore, bank99 makes its internal and external communication channels available for fundraising appeals and invites children and young people to training courses and workshops on financial education. Furthermore, bank99 employees are actively involved in corporate volunteering projects on site in the diverse programs offered by SOS Children's Villages.

Nora Deinhammer, Managing Director of SOS Children's Villages: "With the support of bank99, we are investing together in the future of young people. This cooperation not only enables them to successfully complete their schooling or apprenticeship, but also strengthens their personal development – an essential foundation for a fulfilling life. We sincerely thank bank99 for this valuable commitment and look forward to a strong and long-term collaboration."

Bernhard Achberger, Board Member of bank99: "Sustainability and responsibility are part of our identity. With the balancekonto99, we enable customers to easily support sustainable projects. We also take responsibility as a company – for example, through our cooperation with SOS Children's Villages, which opens up new perspectives for young people."
