Münzer launches the first Austria-wide awareness campaign for used cooking oil collection.

Collect used oil in plastic bottles and dispose of it at collection points throughout Austria.

With the slogan "Small drops. Big impact," the Münzer Bioindustrie is launching the first Austria-wide information campaign on the proper disposal of used cooking oil. The focus is on out-of-home billboards throughout Austria, supplemented by radio, social media, print, video-on-demand spots, and digital formats. The goal: to make the simple collection of used cooking oil visible in everyday life – and to extract a valuable raw material from what was supposedly waste.
"Far too much used cooking oil still ends up in the drain or in the general waste – and this means a huge potential is lost," explains Hanna Mohr, Marketing Director at Münzer. "Our message is therefore clear: Properly collecting and disposing of used cooking oil is child's play and enables its further processing into new energy."

Small drops, big impact

The campaign deliberately focuses on messages that are practical for everyday use: Anyone who fills their used cooking oil into a clean, sealed plastic bottle and takes it to a nearby collection point is actively protecting the climate. Collection points are already available throughout Austria, and the network of Münzer boxes and partners is constantly expanding.
"Climate protection begins at your doorstep," says Hanna Mohr. "Our systems make it easier than ever to properly dispose of used cooking oil. This creates a new routine that everyone can effortlessly integrate into their daily lives."

Awareness grows, potential remains

A recent consumer survey shows that three out of four people would be willing to properly collect their used cooking oil – if there were a simple system for doing so. This is precisely where Münzer's campaign comes in.
"Separate waste collection has long been commonplace in Austria. However, liquid waste such as used cooking oil requires its own solutions," emphasizes Ewald-Marco Münzer, Managing Director of Münzer Bioindustrie. "Our goal is to make these solutions available throughout Austria. This way, waste becomes energy – and the kitchen becomes climate protection."
