Enjoy coffee and protect the environment at the same time: Tchibo in Austria is now using the RECUP reusable deposit system for to-go drinks.

Effective immediately, Tchibo in Austria is using the RECUP reusable deposit system for to-go beverages. What does this mean in concrete terms? Customers can enjoy their coffee in reusable RECUP cups at 50 participating Tchibo stores – for a deposit of €1. This makes enjoying coffee without waste even easier. After use, the cups can be returned to one of the almost 160 RECUP locations in Austria and to all participating Tchibo stores. The system thus offers a straightforward and environmentally friendly solution for enjoying coffee on the go. With this initiative, Tchibo is taking another step toward resource-saving packaging solutions and actively reducing single-use waste.
Waste prevention as a common goal
With this cooperation, Tchibo aims to reduce the use of disposable cups and offer an environmentally friendly alternative for coffee-to-go lovers. "For many years, we have been committed to resource-saving coffee enjoyment in reusable cups and have already taken the first steps with a deposit offer in Vienna and Salzburg. Through our partnership with RECUP, we want to reach even more customers and establish the reusable system throughout Austria. In our Tchibo Coffee Bars in all nine state capitals, customers can enjoy their coffee-to-go conveniently and environmentally friendly in RECUP deposit cups. A simple step with a big impact on the environment."“, says Paul Unterluggauer, Managing Director of Tchibo Austria.
RECUP is already the largest reusable system with nearly 20,000 participating locations in Germany and Austria. The new partnership will further strengthen this cross-border pool system and make the use of reusable products even easier for customers."Reusable packaging works best when it's widely available and can be easily integrated into people's everyday lives and daily routines. We're pleased to have Tchibo as a strong partner in Austria to jointly advance the reusable concept.", says Philipp Goos, Managing Director of RECUP. However, to-go drinks can still be consumed at Tchibo in your own cup.
