Third sustainability strategy of sufficiency in the building sector.

In the next Deep Dive Sustainability on June 17, 2025, Patrick Zimmermann, project manager in the Energy Department at ifeu – Institute for Energy and Environmental Research Heidelberg, will examine the often-neglected third sustainability strategy of sufficiency in the building sector, alongside efficiency and consistency. Using five concrete approaches, the concept will be explained and why this strategy is essential for achieving various sustainability goals. The presentation will highlight various practical examples (from Germany) and provide an overview of policy recommendations.

All Deep Dives are intended to provide not only a source of information for interested parties but also a platform for discussion on the topics.
