"The award with the highest sustainability rating AAA confirms the path we have taken and demonstrates that sustainable action is having an impact. It is the result of the company-wide implementation of our LOOP strategy, a clear product focus on sustainable solutions, and strategic brand management," said Energie AG CEO Leonhard Schitter.
The Energie AG brand's high credibility regarding sustainability contributed to the award. Investments in sustainable energy infrastructure, digitalization, and security of supply were positively evaluated, as were Energie AG's strong regional roots in Upper Austria. As part of the company's realignment, Energie AG's brand identity was also specifically developed and sharpened, with a focus on clarity, approachability, and recognizability. Consistent and differentiated communication plays a key role in this process, not only addressing sustainability but also communicating it comprehensibly across all relevant channels.
"This recognition demonstrates how important it was to consistently align the brand presence and overall communications with the LOOP strategy. This has enabled us to not only convey our stance on sustainability in terms of content, but also to make it visible and tangible to the outside world – clearly, credibly, and with high recognition," says Karin Strobl, Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing at Energie AG.
The Sustainable Brand Rating Austria is based on a comprehensive catalog of criteria with 52 indicators aligned with international standards such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Agenda 2030 and ISO 20671 for brand evaluation. Companies are evaluated using the EBI scoring model in four main categories: Brand Leadership, Social Responsibility, Product/Services, and Investment.
