"The TRIGOS is the most important driver for corporate responsibility and sustainable innovations in Austria. It is addressed to those companies that help shape our future responsibly and do not lose sight of the common big goal of achieving the climate targets. I cordially invite all companies that want to make a lasting difference to submit their applications and to the information breakfast," says Nikolaus Juhász (pictured), CEO of BKS Bank and respACT regional coordinator for Carinthia. In recent years, more than 3,042 Austrian companies have submitted applications to TRIGOS. In total, around 318 companies were awarded the coveted sustainability prize nationally and regionally. "These companies can rightly count themselves among the most sustainable companies in Austria," adds Juhász.
Four categories and a special prize
In Styria, entries can be submitted in four categories: "Exemplary Projects", "Regional Value Creation", "Social Innovation & Future Challenges" and "Climate Protection". A special prize for the "CSR Newcomer of the Year", which is awarded to a company submitting for the first time, provides additional incentive. In its assessment, the jury focuses on the innovative strength, impact and future viability of the respective initiatives and projects, but the core business must also be clearly sustainable. In addition, the contribution to the UN's global sustainability goals - the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - is particularly valued. There are numerous advantages for companies by participating: "Companies are given the opportunity to critically question their activities, strengthen the strategic anchoring of sustainability in the core business and increase their resilience and future viability," says Juhász.
