Thanks to an innovative energy supply using deep wells and photovoltaics, viéno meets current requirements for energy efficiency, sustainability and EU taxonomy.

After two years of restraint, BUWOG launched an investment offensive at the end of last year and resumed its new construction activities with the viéno project in Vösendorf. South of Vienna, in the area between Willi-Hafenscher-Gasse and Ortsstraße, a sustainable residential quarter with 513 privately financed rental apartments is being built on the former Alvorada site. Gustin & Zieser Architekten are responsible for the architecture. The topping-out ceremony for viéno took place on September 11th. With its location in the Vienna catchment area and a volume of more than 500 privately financed rental apartments, viéno meets the basic requirements of a new construction project in terms of economic viability and also contributes to responding to the high demand for rental apartments in the Vienna metropolitan area and the surrounding area, according to Andreas Holler, BUWOG Managing Director responsible for Development. "It is a great pleasure to be one step closer to the completion of the project in spring 2027 with the topping out ceremony, and I would like to thank all the partners involved for their valuable contribution with their dedication and expertise."

As a property developer, BUWOG is aware of its responsibility to meet the demand for urgently needed housing. "With our investment offensive, we launched several new projects in the first half of the year alone, comprising a total of around 1,000 rental and owner-occupied apartments. viéno is now the first of our new projects with which we are celebrating a topping-out ceremony, thus symbolizing that we have released the pause button and are once again focusing on growth," Holler continued.

Between Wienerberg and Weinberg, the future residents of viéno will enjoy the advantages of both city and country. Close to Vienna's city limits and one of Europe's largest shopping centers, they will find everything they need for everyday life. Excellent connections to the transport network and Vienna's city center, as well as proximity to recreational areas, further distinguish the project's location. Thus, viéno offers the ideal living space for all those who value a blend of city and country living. The individual apartments were designed for a wide variety of living situations: The spacious rooms offer singles, couples, or families ample space to customize their living arrangements to their individual needs. Thanks to an innovative energy supply using deep wells and photovoltaics, viéno meets current requirements for energy efficiency, sustainability, and the EU taxonomy. A biotope is planned as the green heart of the residential district, surrounded by vibrant flora that invites relaxation in every season. Once completed, the project will offer a variety of seating options for a vibrant community with a high quality of life and modern living standards for young and old. The buildings will be connected underground via a shared underground parking garage with approximately 670 parking spaces. The project has already garnered its first award: At the European Property Awards 2024, which took place in London at the end of last year, viéno won in the "Best Residential Development 20+ Units Austria" category. Completion of the entire project is planned for spring 2027.
