In recent months, UNIQA has successfully undergone an intensive audit of its measures to improve the compatibility of family and work and can be pleased with the state award. The coveted certificate was presented on January 29th by Bernadett Humer, Head of the Family & Youth Section in the Federal Chancellery.
UNIQA is committed to enabling all employees to achieve the best possible work-life balance. Family-friendliness and employee satisfaction are seen as key success factors. The company therefore attaches great importance to designing the work environment in such a way that work and family life can be easily combined.

"We want to create an environment for our employees in which they can provide their best possible service for our customers. Family friendliness is a key element in this. That is why we have created many offers: flexible working hours and locations, an internal family network and offers for childcare during the holidays. The award confirms our path to becoming the best employer in the domestic financial sector," says René Knapp, Chief Human Resources Officer at UNIQA Insurance Group AG. "At the same time, the certificate is a mandate for us to continue to be committed to our employees in the future and to develop further as a family-friendly employer," says René Knapp, pointing out the new goals.
In the course of the audit, not only was the status quo evaluated, but goals and corresponding measures to further improve the compatibility of family and work were also developed, the implementation of which UNIQA is committed to within the framework of the agreement.
This includes, among other things, establishing a consistent parental leave management process, supporting family carers and further raising awareness of family issues among managers. In accordance with the guidelines for the 2013 work and family audit, continuous implementation is being pursued and annual interim reports are submitted to Familie & Beruf Management GmbH.
